Bock Optronics is now a distributor of e2v's Argus SC - August 11 2009

As a result of 30 years intensive design and research, e2v's specialist engineers continue to lead the way in hand held thermal imaging technology for police and security services.
The Argus SC is the latest generation of the highly successful Argus thermal Imaging camera, it has been specifically designed to help police, security and law enforcement officers to detect the heat signatures of people and objects. The Argus SC can be used in conditions of zero visibility including complete darkness, and smoke. Because the energy being sensed is heat rather than light, the camera can be used in both day and night operations. Due to inherent levels of infrared heat energy, people are easily visible to the Argus SC 24 hours a day, and because Argus SC is very sensitive, detecting temperature variations lower than 0.05oC, it is ideal for a series of security applications.
Ovation Systems wins UK Home Office Award for Afterburner - September 11 2007

Award winners from left to right: Gordon Moore, UK Sales Manager of Ovation Systems, Lord MacKenzie of Framwellgate OBE, President of the Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS) David Phipps, Technical Support Manger of the National Crime Squad (NCS)
Afterburner the only hard-disk time-lapse DVD recorder on the market was awarded second prize in the new Equipment and Technology Awards (ETIA) 2006 which recognises innovation in the public security field.
The Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers ran this new competition in conjunction with the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB). Designed in consultation with the National Crime Squad the Afterburner was tailor- made for use by law enforcers for video evidence gathering. It has now become so popular that 80 per cent of UK police forces are using it as well as law enforcement organisations in North America, Europe and Australia.
David Phipps the technical support manager from the NCS National Technical Support Unit said it was important that any technology should be 'robust evidentially', easy to use and require minimal training.
The way in which the NCS and Ovation Systems worked together to develop the project won it recognition in the awards. The award was presented to Mr Phipps and Gordon Moore, UK Sales Manager for Ovation Systems at the annual HOSDB exhibition at RAF Halton this Month.
Gordon Moore said: "Both ourselves and the NCS were delighted to be recognised for the innovative way we approached this project. We hope it heralds the start of a new level of co-operation between the police and private companies, which can only seek to raise standards in the future."
