Bock Optronics is a proud member of CADSI (Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries)

PerkinElmer Optoelectronics has been an innovative leader in the manufacture of Vision and Illumination Systems since the early 1980s. Their commitment to meeting the needs of emerging markets had led to the development of a full product range of standard and cumstom Xenon Strobes that satisfy the most demanding industrial vision applications, including automated parts inspection, industrial illumination, robotics, surveillance, and microscopy.

All PerkinElmer Vision and Illumination Systems utilize Xenon lighting that provides uniform direct, fiber optic, or collimated lighting. Their powerful, convenient strobes offer dramatic improvements over conventional lighting. The Xenon flashlamp produces intense pulses of radiant energy covering the full light spectrum from the ultraviolet (UV) to the Visible (VIS) to near infrared (NIR). The spectral output of the Xenon lamp, when coupled with CCD, CMOS and CID silicon cameras, freezes motion, eliminates blur, and enhances image quality with high intensity and short duration pulses. The cost effective systems provide high intensity white light in a small package, significantly simplifying and reducing service periods. New systems are continually being developed utilizing our patented Xenon flash technology.

Direct Illumination Strobes

The PerkinElmer MVS 5000 Machine Vision Strobe produces short duration, high intensity light pulses for industrial vision applications. When operated in conjunction with a CCD/CID solid state video camera, the unit front or backlights objects, freezes motion and eliminates blur, thus enhancing image quality.

The MVS 5000 is a DC-powered unit. The linear xenon flashlamp is packaged in a metal enclosure with a fan for cooling. This strobe incorporates a reflector for maximum intensity and a diffuser window for even illumination of the target area. Input power and signal level cable connections are made through a 9-pin connector mounted on the back of the unit.

The PerkinElmer MVS 3001 (AC) and 3008 (DC) Machine Vision Strobe systems produce short duration, high intensity light pulses for industrial vision applications. These systems consist of an enclosure housing, power supply and trigger module, and a flashlamp. The flashlamp is connected to the power supply through high voltage connectors.

These systems are particularly useful when conventional fiber optic or structured lighting systems cannot provide sufficient illumination for a particular area. The MVS 3001 and 3008 drive linear and ring flashlamps. With an appropriate reflector and a linear flashlamp, illumination is increased and light can be projected to a specified area. A ring flashlamp can be positioned around the lens assembly of a CCD camera in a production inspection system, thereby allowing the camera to be located closer to the object plane.

The PerkinElmer MVS 4000 Mini Strobe produces high intensity, short duration light pulses for industrial vision applications. Operated in conjunction with a CCD/CID solid state video camera, this unit front-lights or back-lights objects, freezes motion, and eliminates blur, thus enhancing image quality.

The MVS 4000 operates from an input voltage of 12 VDC. The trigger input circuit is optically isolated, requiring a 5 volt pulse to flash. The metal enclosure contains a printed circuit module, a 0.75 inch arc quartz flashlamp, and reflector. Inputs are made via a 9-pin connector located on the rear of the strobe.

The PerkinElmer Optoelectronics MVS 4100 and MVS 4200 are cost-effective strobes for a wide variety of industrial inspection applications. The linear xenon flashlamp, mounted in a reflector for maximum intensity, provides 6 microsecond pulses at flash rates up to 100 Hz. The energy-per-flash remains constant at 180 mJ; no range-switching is needed.

These 20 Watt strobes are housed in a convection-cooled, rugged enclosure. Threaded hoses at the bottom of the enclosure allow the unit to be hard mounted. The MVS 4100 has an optically isolated trigger input and requires an external +5V TTL pulse to flash. The MVS 4200 has an internal oscillator and can be run in either external or internal trigger mode. The MVS 4200 is ideal as a stand-alone unit for "stroboscopic" applications.
